Rev. Colleen Cook joined the New Hope family in July 2019 as pastor of All Saints Presbyterian Church. She grew up in Athens, GA where she experienced a variety of church denominations and traditions, making Covenant Presbyterian Church in Athens her church home in 2001. She has also lived in Texas, Tennessee, and Florida. Colleen’s first career was teaching elementary school. Later she earned a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and worked in hospitals and schools as a speech-language pathologist treating patients of all ages and the full range of disordered speech, language, and swallowing.
Through volunteer work with children’s ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church and the movement of the Holy Spirit, Colleen received the call to ministry. She attended Columbia Theological Seminary and received a dual degree: a Master’s of Divinity and a Master’s of Arts in Practical Theology with a concentration in Worship. On graduation from CTS, Colleen was awarded the Frederick Buechner Award for Excellence in Preaching.
Colleen lives in a multigenerational home with her teenager, mother, and brother in a house with daffodils and a Black Lives Matter sign. She loves to sing, play board and card games, write, create food art, and play mini-golf. She has been glad to make Columbus her home and looks forward to many more years serving the New Hope church family.
